CRICKET   Cricket is a sport that is played all over the world, with its roots tracing back to England in the 16th century. The sport is particularly popular in the countries of the former British Empire, such as India, Pakistan, Australia, and South Africa. The basic rules of cricket are relatively simple. The game is played on a large oval-shaped field, with a rectangular 22-yard-long pitch at the center. Two teams of eleven players take turns batting and fielding.
